Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a proactive and hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to join our production engineering team. You’ll play a key role in supporting day-to-day plant operations, ensuring equipment, programs and processes run efficiently and to Texcel’s high-quality standards. You’ll work closely with production teams to improve manufacturing performance, implement process improvements and maintain production flow across our busy electronics facility.

 

Main Responsibilities

The Manufacturing Engineer will support day-to-day plant operations and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring all manufacturing processes operate efficiently, safely and to the highest quality standards.

Process Planning and Development

  • Assess technologies and develop robust manufacturing plans to support production requirements.
  • Establish, deliver and maintain manufacturing processes for new products throughout the full product life cycle.
  • Create and validate programs for automated and programmable equipment.

 Production Support and Maintenance

  • Keep equipment operational through first-level maintenance and repairs, co-ordinating with service providers for higher-level maintenance and full repairs.
  • Oversee and update maintenance logs, ensuring timely troubleshooting of production breakdowns.
  • Provide technical support to production teams in resolving complex manufacturing issues.

Quality and Continuous Improvement

  • Apply root cause analysis techniques to resolve daily assembly and production challenges.
  • Analyse performance data, liaising with the Quality Department to investigate trends and recommend process improvements.
  • Review and analyse equipment performance to achieve ongoing improvements in efficiency, safety and quality.

Documentation and Other Duties

Create, maintain and control manufacturing documentation to ensure process traceability and compliance.

Develop process documentation and train production personnel on new and existing processes.

 Carry out other relevant duties as required to support departmental and business objectives.

 

Skills and Experience

  • Degree in Engineering (BEng or equivalent) – desirable.
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering or production support.
  • Familiar with DFM principles and lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Confident in reading electrical, assembly drawings and technical notes.
  • Understanding of ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Strong project management experience with ability to managing multiple priorities and projects
